I had a great time at Suppose Guild sewing night Thursday. I worked on my postage stamp blocks. I need to use all the charms I have because next month there will be another swap. Anyway, it was fun to visit and sew with friends. I brought home two almost finished blocks.

I'm already getting Stash Bee blocks in the mail. Its like receiving presents. I also got this --



Its my first doll quilt. The fussy cut flowers are so cute. As you can see, quilters are very generous. Besides a handmade card, my partner sent me a zipper pouch that contained a tin of arrow pins, a thimble ring and a quilt block necklace. I was so happy with the quilt and the gifts.

Now for a day of serious quilting. I want to finish something today and then I will let you see.

Suppose guild's closing social was Thursday. We ate tacos, elected new officers, drew for prizes, played quilt bingo and had a great evening. This is the show and tell I should have had finished, but didn't get done until Friday. Its Spaghetti Junction from "Livin' Large 2". I love it.

I'm the queen bee in June, so I need to make a block and write a tutorial for the group.

I've started a new thing--a postage stamp quilt charm swap. I swapped 2" squares of fabric with 10 people and will be making blocks that look like this:

It was a lot of cutting, but I sent charms to and will be getting some from Sweden, Australia and Wales plus lots of states in the US. I already have some from Pocatello and Illinois. Its so fun to see what people send and to visit with them online.

So much sewing and so little time. Isn't it great? Keep quilting and stay happy.

Still Working

I wanted to show some pics from Monday's guild. We were learning Stack'n Whack. Jennifer and I had already cut our block sets and were ready to sew when we got there. Here are some ladies just learning to match fabric repeats and cut sets:

I am binding a quilt for the store today. Pictures will come next time. Last night at another guild, I started an English paper piecing project. It is my first. I think I will like this. And I signed up for a charm swap this week for a postage stamp quilt. Thousands of small squares will be a real challenge. This might not be seen for years.

We are busy at Suppose preparing for Shop Hop next week and then for the Quilt Sampler magazine release. So exciting.

I won these cute fat quarters at Suppose guild last week. Every month we draw a name from those who bring show and tell. I love these colors.

Today I get time at home to work on anything I want after I sew a binding to the Half Moon Modern quilt. Here is a peek at the fabrics I'm going to use:

I've got things to show.  First, I finished this quilt for Suppose.  I did the whole thing from choosing thru quilting.

I used the book "One Line at a Time" by Charlotte Warr Anderson for the quilting instructions.  It is so fun. This quilt is small, but I want to do more quilting on my domestic machine.

Next, I finished my first block for CQJP 2012.  I think I am getting an idea for a project to use my 12 blocks in. I'm ready to start another block.  There are so many ideas and embroidery stitches.  This is very relaxing work for me.

Last night was Suppose Quilt Guild.  We don't usually sew at the first meeting of the month, but last night we did.  We made pillowcases for the Million Pillowcase Challenge at allpeoplequilt.com.  These pictures show Leanne, Jennifer and Lona with their finished pillowcases.

You can see in front of Jennifer fabric for her second.  It was a fun evening. 

Now I must go sew.  There are so many projects waiting for my attention.

I have a start on Christmas gifts for friends and neighbors.  These potholders are fast.  I'm sure I can get many more done. 

Last night was the first guild party of the season.  Good friends, food, entertainment and gifts made for a very fun night.  This is a creative guild, not just for quilters.  This is also a small glimpse of the quilt store where I work. 

This knitted dishcloth was the gift I got.  We exchanged gifts we had made.  Jess is such a good knitter.  She makes beautiful scarves too.

 This is the gift I gave, along with a promise for needle tatting lessons. 

A lot of members were talking about the new Bernina machines we got to try out this week.  Some of us went to an event where we got to try three new machines, including embroidery.  They were all on sale at really great prices, but I still couldn't have one right now.  Oh well, I keep sewing and creating with what I have.  I just had fun seeing something new and I have a $20 gift card I can spend on fabric. 

Its so cold.  I think I will bind a quilt or work on a rug that will keep me warm while I work.  Have a great weekend and keep quilting.
